Financial Responsibilities

The Parish Council is responsible for:

  • Setting an annual budget to cover council services and projects
  • Collecting the precept (our share of the Council Tax)
  • Managing public funds wisely and legally
  • Publishing key financial documents as required by law

Annual Accounts and Audit

We prepare and publish our accounts each year in accordance with the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities and the Accounts and Audit Regulations.

  • Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR)
  • Annual Internal Audit Report
  • Certificate of Exemption (if applicable)
  • Explanation of variances
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Public Rights Notice (giving residents the opportunity to inspect the accounts)
