Wessington’s Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group working with the Parish Council has now completed the draft Neighbourhood Plan and we want your views.

The Plan can be downloaded or accessed at www.wessingtonneighbourhoodplan.co.uk

or a hard copy of the Draft Plan can be viewed by contacting Councillor Kevin Ryan on 07940 842899

This draft Neighbourhood Plan has been drawn up using the views the Parish have given us during all the consultation held between February 2015 and January 2018.

We now need your comments before it goes onto its next stage, which will be conducted by North East Derbyshire District Council.

It’s important that you take the time to read the draft Plan and give us your views, as these will add strength to the proposals. Responses will be totally anonymous and will help us make amendments where appropriate.

YOUR opinions are valuable please let us know what you think.

The comment sheet can be downloaded and returned to the Parish Clerk; Anne Chisholm at 10 Meadow Croft Gardens, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, NG15 6UN or drop it off at SJ Autos on Back Lane or emailed to enquiries@wessingtonparishcouncil.co.uk or you can complete on line using the link to Survey Monkey.

The consultation period lasts for a minimum of 6 weeks starting on the 16th July 2018, so your comments should be returned no later than Monday 27th August 2018

Thank you in advance for your time and for supporting the Neighbourhood Plan.

Great News, the NHP has successfully bid for £10,000 from Awards for All, allowing the Team to progress the Plan with the help of our consultants Helen & Garry. We are very aware of the strong feelings from the Village that no more Housing Developments should be allowed to be built in the Parish.

The NHP have commissioned a Landscape & Character Survey of the Village working with Consultant Garry Hall, this will form part of the Plan but will also stand alone as a document to help protect our Village from further development. If you’d like to be involved contact Catherine Hedley Clerk to the Parish Council.

The NHP Steering Group are meeting on a regular basis to work through the gaps in the draft plan identified by Consultant Helen Metcalfe. They are working along side the Emerging Local Plan from NEDDC. But there is still a shortfall in NEDDC’s 5 year Housing Supply.

The Parish Council sees all Planning applications for the Village and will object to those not conforming to the NHP draft Policies.

A big thank you to all the Parishioners that joined the NHP group on the 15th December 2016 at the School, your feedback is very important to the development of the Villages Neighbourhood Plan.

Preliminary Survey results below from September 2016, thank you again for taking part. Please click on the link to view the results NHP Survey Initial Data
